Star Wars: The Old Republic’s conversation wheel has a strange power. Look at it and you may rememberBig Decisions it’s helped you make in other, singleplayer games. Look at it and you may wonder if it can do the same in the significantly different universe of MMOs. With the game’s emphasis on being a character of either the “light” or the “dark” persasion, only extremes (plus a dead-neutral option) are reconginsed; any characters that fall in the grey area between will find it difficult to find gear and come at endgame. So from the outset, I would choose to be a baddie.

We hope you’re ready for another exciting Call of Duty experience!

The Call of Duty: Black Ops single-player campaign offers a deep and complex storyline which takes place between the events of World at War and Modern Warfare. A direct sequel to World at War, the Black Ops story takes you across the globe as you fight with special operative teams in Cuba, Vietnam, and the Soviet Union.

Because Call of Duty: Black Ops features such an intense story, we’ve been extra careful to avoid any spoilers in either the training chapter of the campaign walkthrough. Feel free to use these chapters if you get stuck, need some tips, or want to track you Intel and game progress without spoiling your experience.

When you’ve completed the campaign, check out the Secrets chapter for full reveals of the plethora of unlockable extras available to you. The Secrets chapter does contain story spoilers, so save it for after you complete the single-player campaign in order to enjoy its compelling plot fully.

If this is your first Call of Duty game, we’ve got you covered. Start with the Specialized Training chapter, and we’ll tell you everything you need to survive, even on the harder difficulties.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING – General tips & tricks

This section of the guide is spoiler-free, and it’s primarily aimed at player new to Call of Duty franchise, or player who want a refresher on game basics. Here we cover basic tactics that can help you survive any tactical scenario in the field.

The Bare Basics

Call of Duty: Black Ops, like all other Call of Duty games, is a first-person shooter (FPS). This means you play most of the game looking trough the eyes of the main character as he fights his way trough the campaign’s many scenarios.

This sections of the guide is for users new to first-person shooters, or those who haven’t played an FPS in a few years.

Controls

Throughout the guide, we refer to the basic controls by the official name of the command (Fire, Aim Down Sight, Melee, Interact etc.). To determine which controls are bound to which buttons on your system of choice, refer to your usermanual of the game’s Options Menu.

The game doesn’t have an official tutorial, but the onscreen prompts found throughout should give you hints on how to handle any new situations.

Basic Loadout

in the Call of Duty: Black Ops campaign, you can carry two weapons (no matter how large the weapons are) and two grande types. Within the campaign, you don’t get to pick the types of grenades you carry, but the tactical grandees are tailored to each missions.

You also carry a knife that you can deploy at any time via the Melee button. Some campaign sequences introduce you to special weapons beyond the primary and secondary weapons in your layout.

Firing from the Hip

When you equip a firearm in Call of Duty: Black Ops, a crosshair appears in the middle of the screen. This crosshair represents the spread of your weapon if you :fire from the hip,” which means simply to shoot your gun without targeting it.

While girding from the hip is less accurate than aiming down the sights, and it’s generally not the best way to kill enemies, it does have its purpose. Short-range guns like SMGs and shotguns actually work quite well firing from the hip. If an enemy surprises you at close range, it’s much better to fire from the hip rather than careful try to aim.

The only way you should never fire from the hip is when you are equipped with the a sniper rifle or rifle. These weapons are completely inaccurate from the hip, and it’s better to switch to you alternate weapon rather than try for a blind rifle shot.

Aim Down Sight

Most of the time, you should fire your weapon while holding the Aim Down Sight button. This gives you a realistic view of your weapon as you character’s eye lines up with its sights.

As mentioned in the previous sections, Aiming Down Sight is generally not necessary for short-range weapons, but doing so can increase the range and accuracy of SMGs and shotguns.

Aiming Down Sight automatically triggers sniper mode if you’re using a weapon with a long-range sight, like a Dragonov sniper rifle.

Cover

Cover is a vital concept in Call of Duty: Black Ops, and we refer to finding cover frequently in the walkthrough. Cover is simply any obstacle that you can put between yourself and the enemies to get some level of protection form their incoming fire.

Whenever you encounter enemies, you should try to find and move to cover before returning fire on the enemies. Trying to take them down in the open frequently results in death on the hater difficulty settings.

That’s it for now folks! I will post the second part soon.

The more sensible onlookers know it for what it is: a fighting game series with unique charms and ideas.Dead or Alive 5 will be the first entry created without the input of series creator Tomonobu Itagaki. I’ts been almost seven years since Dead or Alive 4 which launched in 2005 as an Xbox 360 launch title. This is also the first time the series appears on Playstation 3.

The beautiful female characters will punch and kick each other until something exlodes. There are dudes too, like a ninja (of the Gaiden variety), a Bruce Lee clone, and a spandex-wearing African-American DJ. The cast has been redesigned from the ground up with more realistic proportions in mind. Gone is the “doll” aesthetic that has given the series its stiff mennequin look. Characters will now sweat, show their exhaustion visually, and their clothing will get scuffed during brawls.

The “entertainment” part comes via the new Power Blows: a single-button charged attack that, when successful, triggers an over-the-shoulder camera and slow-motion. During this. you can pivot your view and aim at the background. which lights up as you select a target. When you tap an attack button again. you send your opponent flying where you were looking. Walls break and glass shatters, but now you can also trigger dramatic changes to the battlefield such ascausing the entire half-built skyscraper you’re fighting on to collapse to the street below.

Much is being kept under wraps such as the cast list, how destructible environments are, fighting system changes, and so on. It’s been confirmed, however, that Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter will appear as a playable guest character.

Considering we’re about to head into the fifth big-budget game, it’s no surprise that we’re about to get an Assassin’s Creed stepped in American history. The important thing to consider is that Assassin’s Creed III is still about the on-going war between the Assassins and Templars. What’s more, the team behind the game believs that the basic themes of the series run parallel to those of the American Revolution: power or opression; control or freedom.

In previous Assassin’s Creed titles, less detailed historical documentation allowed for a certain level of creative license. Now that a mere 230 years separate us from Ubisof’s chosen period, Assassin’s Creed III is headed down a more authentic path.

This will be Ubisoft’s biggest game to date; there are more than eight different studios across the world that are involved with the project. Additionally, five full-time reasearchers have sifted through thousands of pages of historical documents.

The last four or five Halo novels published till now have been painting Halo 4 pretty deeply from the ground up.

It’s not been an easy ride, though Halo 3 ended a trilogy and brought an expansive storyline to a reasonable comfortable conclusion. The Flood was stopped, the Halo rings failed to fire (which would have destroyed all sentient life) and the Master Chief was left, along with Cortana to drift through the vestiges of space. An uneasy alliance was made between the humans and the races of the Convenant and without restarting and reopening old wounds, it was unclear just where Halo 4 could go. But, that was before Frank O’Connor and Greg Bear announced the Forerunner Saga – a series of books, starting with Halo: Cryptum, that would expose the advanced alien race that built the Halo rings and first combated the Flood, 100.000 years before the events of Combat Evolved.

Connor doesn’t confirm the Forerunners as the main antagonists of Halo 4, but it makes an awful lot of sense to consider them. 343 needs a new galaxy-threatening species, and the alien race that started it all – one that’s already something of an originator species for all the life in the galaxy – seems like a logical choice. For O’Connor Halo 4 has everything fans want and more.

Perhaps raking up the mantle from Heavy Rain, which after a 2006 announcement finally found release early 2010, Fumito Ueda’s next project quickly became that far-off dream that fans could rally behind when justifying an investment in Sony’s Blu-ray powerhouse.

The end of 2011 saw rumours and a shock announcemnt that Fumito Ueda had left Sony. While these rumours were hitting the headlines, The last guardian’s executive producer Yoshifusa Hayama also jumped ship, joining London-based social networking company Bossa Studios. It laster transpired that Ueda remained under contractual obligation to complete the game, and had in fact been doing so with honour and dedication, at least according to Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida.

Those people who invested in a PS3 almost solely to see what this legendary team would do next. The Last Guardian needs a 2013 release before Sony’s new console Orbis will be out, and will almost certainly receive one.

Game modes are more narrative-based than simple deathmatch, with events in the first round of gamplay affecting the nature of the second, with changing high-value targets and pieces of land to control.
